speed cameras explained
Can you please explain when you can be caught by a speed camera????

Can you only be caught by one that is on the same side of the road as you? What does the fluorescent yellow side mean? Thanks
I wish people (Mel) would read the rest of the question. Obviously I know that you have to be speeding to get caught and I don’t ever intentionally speed. Its just a question! I just wasn’t sure if a camera on the other side of the road could catch you.

Therefore – if when you drive towards a camera (on either side of the road) if it is not fluorescent yellow does that mean it will only work on the other side of the road?

You can be causght on both sides of some speed cameras but not all what they do is they take two pics of you on then another 700th of a second later and the first one they check where your back wheel is then on the second one and each line measures 5 miles per hour so they can decipher your speed I think to miss one you have to be traveling over 180 miles per hour to not get caught. The yellow strip is so that you can see the camera because they are not allowed to hide them ages ago they did but people started spray painting them etc to make them noticable so now you can see where they are. The old film types can take your pic both way but I think the newer ones dont’.
