video cameras slow motion

How do I make ultra slow-motion video?
I would like to make a video with a duration of about 8 hours based on a video of a 30-60 second scene.
I know that I can slow down a normal 30fps video from a DV cam or something but I really want to have the DATA from a high-frame rate camera.
How man FPS do I need from a high speed camera in order to achieve my goal?
If I understood you correctly, you are trying to shoot a 30 to 60 second scene with a high frame-rate camera so you can slow it down to be played back over an 8 hour period.
If this is the case then you would need a camera that could shoot somewhere between 12,000 and 28,800 frames per second depending on your playback format (NTSC/PAL) and whether you record 30 or 60 seconds. There are some special cameras available which use high-speed computers with special software that can record all the frames that quickly.
But make sure you have very deep pockets because this type of system is extremely expensive.
